Howdy,
So this week I mostly finished off the courtyard map by getting the archery tower to work - so let's talk about that.
An important philosophical notion of mission 5 is to allow players to make combat easier by spending resources - allowing more economically minded players to have fun without finding the combat too tricky.
This upgrade allows friendly units who have captured a tower to loose arrows at enemies which are in a specific radius.
You can notice that the tower is friendly by the banner (which uses the player primary and secondary colours) - and also because it's loosing arrows at your enemies instead of trying to hurt you.
It works in principle rather similar to the companion - that is to say - it'll only hit each enemy a limited amount depending on how frequently they're attacking you. This means that herding enemies into the area to watch their health go down isn't a viable tactic, and you do actually have to take some hits yourself.
And with the courtyard essentially done, it was time to add a bit of polish to the siege map.
Now, depending on what you choose as your primary way to get into the the fortress - there's a change showing your siege engineers working on it.
Still need to do one for the "secret passage" - might turn it into a portal instead, or a tunnel dug by sappers.
Either way, that's about it for this week. Next week I will most probably start on the boss fight - quite looking forward to that.
Til then
Congratulations on the new updates. Keep it up!
